Introduction to Visual Storytelling 2023 – Workshop
In this workshop we will work to tell stories with images. We will work together to engage in reading visuals. We will practice visual thinking. We will closely look into the strength of a single image as well as the tedious task of bringing together multiple single images to make a meaningful visual narrative. We will begin to trust and explore creative processes. This intensive two-week workshop aims to be a learning ground for photographers who’re technically sound with digital photography and wish to take a step ahead into visual storytelling.

REQUIREMENTS:
Participants should have a good technical base in photography.
Participants should have their own DSLR cameras/equipments.
Participants should be able to commit to the workshop full time from 22 Sep – 06 October 2023.

About the Mentor:
Sagar Chhetri is a Kathmandu based photographer and educator. He has been practicing teaching-learning in photography for the past 8 years. In his works explores the narratives of politics, identity, and representation in his works. In 2018 he received the Magnum Foundation Fund for his work Eclipse. He was a visiting artist fellow 2019-2020 at the South Asia Institute, Harvard University. He participated in the Joop Swart Masterclass 2020 organized by World Press Photo.
