Samir Jung Thapa

Samir Jung Thapa was born in Kathmandu in 1981. He studied tourism in Singapore and moved on to media studies. Thapa started freelancing as a photographer in India in 2005, photographing at international events such as Crusty Demons, Air Supply, Aerosmith, and Taxiride. He came back home to Nepal in 2007 and started working with Nepal Tourism Board as a freelance photographer. His photography assignments included travels to Ilam, Dharan, Koshi Tappu, and Janakpur. He also dabbled in the world of advertising but soon got bored. Thapa then joined Yeti Travels and has been exploring Nepal, photographing remote but beautiful destinations such as Shey Phoksundo, Upper Mustang, Manang, Langtang, the Everest region amidst others.
