Silvia Gruber Silvia, who is a High School teacher In Austria, lived out her childhood dream by going to Nepal for five months to volunteer at a school in Lalitpur. Her interest in photography was first sparked by travels to Italy and England, two of her  favourite European countries.

Never before, though, had she taken as many pictures as during her stay in Nepal, which she describes as the happiest time in her life. Amazing Nepali landscapes - she did the Annapurna Circuit - its beautiful people, its unusual animals and plants have been her 'targets'. Everything is interesting to her, as everything is so different in Nepal, compared to her homeland. With her photos Silvia tries to get to the point of a scene, which often enough can be viewed in a humorous way. Especially the animal motives, of which she was able to discover a lot, lend themselves to be interpreted from a human point -of -view. Silvia says she also likes animal photography because animals don't feel they have to pose, and they don't ask for rupees...
