Photojournalist Shruti Shrestha began shooting for Kantipur Publications and stringing for Reuters in 2005. She is at present also pursuing an MA in Mass Communication and Journalism from Kantipur City College. Shrestha says she enjoys shooting current affairs, especially political protests and party meetings! Inspired by the works of fellow Reuters photographer Desmond Boyland and Aro Dutta, Shrestha's favorite working lens is the Canon 17-85 mm EF lens.

Tracing the Maoist Party and its People's Liberation Army from the forests that provided them foliage to venues in Kathmandu that provide them a political platform, photojournalist Shruti Shrestha brings to our attention the struggles that they have endured and have forced others to endure.
